The Alumni Hall of Fame has been established to honor former Cumberland County Public School graduates who have excelled or distinguished themselves through personal and/or professional success, and who have made significant contributions to society, including Cumberland County Public Schools.
Each spring, beginning with Spring 2017, one former alumni will be selected to be inducted into the Alumni Hall of Fame. Recipient must be a graduate of Cumberland County Public Schools.
Virginia’s Governor Ralph Northam proclaimed February to be Career and Technical (CTE) Month. This recognition was intended to highlight the cooperative efforts between CTE educators, CTE administrators, and business and industry representatives.
Brandon White, Student Liaison to the School Board, made a presentation to the members of the Cumberland School Board at their meeting held on Monday, February 12, 2018.
Cumberland County Public Schools joined 132 other school divisions throughout the state to celebrate School Board Appreciation Month in February. Almost 850 elected and appointed school board members throughout Virginia were recognized by schools and communities for their service and dedication to public education.
On Monday, February 12, 2018, the members of the Cumberland School Board recognized the students of the month for December and January.
The following staff members were recognized at the February 2018 meeting of the Cumberland School Board: Sarah Bailey, Cumberland Elementary third grade teacher of science and social studies; Mark Beard, Cumberland High School custodian; Victoria Cook, Cumberland Middle School teacher of seventh grade life science; Jennifer Hendricks, Cumberland Middle School fifth grade teacher of Virginia Studies; Carly Keeshan, Cumberland Elementary second grade teacher; and Lisa Winslow, Cumberland High School nursing teacher.

Due to inclement weather closing schools, February 2, February 19, March 23, April 20, May 23, and May 24, 2018 will be full school days. May 25, 2018 will be the last day of school and an early dismissal day for students.
