Girl Scouts Commended by Cumberland School Board at March Meeting Featured

In honor of Girl Scout Week, which is celebrated each March, the members of the Cumberland School Board recognized the local Girl Scout troops, including Troop 5201 Daisies and Brownies and Junior Troop 130 (4th and 5th grades). The Troops were commended for their impressive acts of community service, which included collecting water bottles and food donations for Backpacks of Love; volunteering at local churches; helping serve local law enforcement members, EMS volunteers, and firefighters with a dinner and recognition ceremony; donating toys and games to the Christmas Mother; decorating campsites at Bear Creek Lake State Park; raising funds to assist veterans in the area; and participating in Wreaths Across America. Mr. George Reid, long-time School Board member, commended the girls and told them “to keep doing what they do!”
